Dry damaged hair gets a silky boost

People are waiting longer periods of time before giving in and getting their hair cut. To keep your hair healthy in between the right product will help a great deal!

janeft states that “Herbal Essence’s Hydralicious lives up to its name and beyond. The shampoo alone moisturizes and conditions my hair beyond my expectations; and the conditioner leaves my hair incredibly silky soft. No tangles, smooth and shiny hair. The best moisturizing Shampoo and Conditioner I have ever used…and I have used alot!”

She tried out the Reconditioning shampoo and conditioner, but the Hydralicious collection also includes Self-Targeting for for normal hair and Featherweight for for hair that needs body.

Cheap Eco Friendly hair treatments - Vinegar for your hair

I’ve heard rinsing your hair with vinegar for cleansing effects but who knew it was supposed to brighten skin, soften hair and improve health as well. This product is wallet and eco-friendly which are also major pros.

This article states that:
“Vinegar is very useful as a rinse for the hair for several reasons. Acetic acid is a mild chelating agent, so it can be useful in removing mineral deposits on the hair that accumulate over time due to impurities in the air and hard water. The clarifying properties of ACV and other vinegars also extend to the removal of accumulated sebum or other waxy buildup from products. When used for this purpose, it is important to use a greater concentration of vinegar (25 to 50 percent). Rub it into the scalp and leave it on the hair for a few minutes, which gives it time to work.

Another excellent application for vinegar is to use it in conjunction with soap/shampoo bars, as a means for the prevention of build up of hard water–induced soap scum, which can be devastating to the condition of your hair.

Vinegar is also just a great pH adjuster for the hair when used as a rinse in a dilute aqueous solution. It is essential that your hair be the proper pH after cleansing and conditioning, as this affects the overall health, appearance, and condition of your hair. For this reason, most modern shampoos and conditioners are “pH balanced,” meaning they are adjusted to a pH very close to that of the hair in its healthiest state.

Other foods that are great for your hair include: egg yolk, avocado, and beer.

Beauty products to get you through tough times

Because of the current state of the economy, it seems like we are all making changes in our spending habits whether it be in our holiday spending or in our beauty routines.

I personally am trying to stretch out a much need hair cut as long as possible, skipping manicures/pedicures, accepting my pale complexion, and searching for cheaper products that still work great.

Instead of hitting the salon for a complete hair coloring, you might want to just touch up those roots with an in store dye. Nice& Easy by Clairol offers a a relatively inexpensive root touch up option. SweetMeg14 says “I love this stuff….it lets you stretch out your time between salon visits so it saves lots of money!”

You can give in and do your own nails! I know the idea might seem scary to some of you but there are some great all inclusive manicure kits that help simplify the process. Ilovegabby1128 recommends the Sally Henson French Manicure kit:

For the fair complexioned that can’t afford the tanning bed at the moment, try a home self tanner that will give you a bronze glow.
2005chk recommends Sally Henson Airbrush Face Tanner for the “no streak” look:
