Proactive came out about 10 years ago coincidentally I was in high school and wanted to really believe the commercials spouting miracle claims on the television that I did end up trying it. Personally for me, it wasn’t a miracle worker but it did do a good job. Everyone has their own skin issues but apparently it works well for some. According to this blogger at >Bellasugar “After only a week of use, the texture of my skin is smoother, tighter, and appears less oily. The redness and inflammation has subsided, and bumps have softened — if not disappeared.” and “The Three-Step System ($40) leaves the skin feeling very active and refreshed.” Commenters also weighed in with some being adamant supporters while others stating that it didn’t work for them.

The Toxic 12 List has been released to let women know what chemicals to scan for in the ingredients of their makeup. They are composed of harmful chemicals that can either trigger unwanted allergies, irritation or even long term lung disease. Former Miss America-turned-beauty activist Susan Jeske had promoted this Toxic 12 List that women should take note of. Some of these are found in common cosmetics and aesthetic products that can induce harm when used too frequently.
1. Benzoyl peroxide
2. DEA (diethanolamine) and MEA (monoethanolamine) and TEA (triethanolamine)
3. Dioxin
4. DMDM hydantoin and imidazolidinyl urea
5. Synthetic colors and pigments
6. Parabens (methyl, butyl, ethyl, propyl)
7. FEG (polyethylene glycol)
8. Phthalates 9xenoestrogens)
9. Propylene glycol and butylene glycol
10. Sodium lauryl sulfate and sodium laureth sulfate
11. Sunscreen chemicals like avobensone, benzphenone and PABA
12. Triclosan

Since it’s so hot and humid this time of year, I popped into Sephora looking for a lighter, less-heavy foundation. One of the problems I have with foundation is trying to find something pale enough to blend into my pasty skin. I’m happy to have found You Rebel Lite.

It’s basically tinted moisturizer - but it’s thick enough to give summer coverage, thin enough to not feel heavy, light enough for my pale-ness and it has added moisturizers to keep my skin smooth. Great find!

A little over six months ago my arm got cut pretty badly on a piece of broken glass (no interesting story; I’m just clumsy). It was one of those situations where stitches were probably needed but without health insurance it really wasn’t an option..

Anyway, now that the skin is starting to grow back, I’m trying to use as much Mederma as possible to avoid much of a scar. A friend suggested I try it after it saved her legs from a heinous case of poison ivy. So far it seems to be working, and that’s a relief!
