Tax Day Deals and Giveaways!

Today, April 15, 2009 is Tax day! The only reason I use an exclamation point is that it means deals and giveaways and after paying taxes free bites from Cinnabon or a free scoop from Maggie Moo’s just might make it a little better!

Here is a list of the deals I have found:

Cinnabon:
From 5-8 pm participating mall-based Cinnabons will be giving away free bites.

Maggie Moo’s:
The deal: At participating Maggie Moo’s, get one free single-scoop ice cream cone.

Chick-fil-A
At participating locations, hold on to your receipt tomorrow and return before April 30th to receive the same meal for free. (Contact your local store to find out if they’re participating.)

McDonald’s
Baltimore-area McDonald’s locations will give away free small McCafes or medium iced McCafe Coffees throughout the day. Plus, starting at noon, McDonald’s will be giving away free McDonald’s stamps at three post offices in Baltimore, Columbia, and Annapolis.

Papa John’s
Get a large cheese pizza with up to three toppings for $10.40 when you activate coupon code “1040″ now through midnight on April 15th.

Austin Grill and Hard Times Cafe
In Washington, D.C., all Austin Grill and Hard Times Cafe locations will deduct $10.40 from your check.

Subway
Get a Free cookie at Subway restaurants on April 15th! I would check with your local Subway but apparently there is no purchase necessary.

If you play it they will come….

Every now and then at Expo we get questions and requests for random products. Today, I received the following question:
I am trying to attract martians. I need a CD player that will play when plugged in (110) start playing when we have automatic timer attached. It need to do this at a remote area, therefore unattended start at 7:00 A. M. And stop at 11:00 A.M. then restart the next day at the same time automatic. Can you help?

American Express Wishlist

Whoever says that credit cards are bad for you has not seen the deals that AmEx members are receiving for the holidays over at the AmEx wishlist

The wish list provides members with discounts on items like the Nintendo DS or the Garmin Nuvi GPS as well as creative experiences “such as a private dinner hosted by celebrity chef, Gordon Ramsay, or the opportunity to spend the day at the Marie Claire’s New York City offices with the magazine’s fashion director Nina Garcia.”

These offers are only available to American Express card members, so if you are lucky enough to be a card holder, make sure to check out what types of offers and deals are available to you as you search for deals on this Cyber Monday, as well as through out the holiday shopping season.

Random Inquiries received here at Expo

Every now and then we seem to get the most random inquiries at Expo for products and information. Here are some examples of this month’s latest Random Expo Inquiries:
1. I had one of your manufacturer coupon for a free can of Pledge furniture polish. The store would not honour it due to damage to the bar code. I would appreciate if you would send me another one. I am a fan of most of your products

2.Somehow- the Instruction booklet got lost when I received my new 32 in Sharp Aquos set- please tell me how to get a new set of operating instructions. Thank you for your cooperation.

I would say contact the manufacturer for a copy of the booklet. We just have video reviews here, no booklets.

3.i have got a ear thermometer from a friend for a gift but it didn’t come with a manual and lifewise made it and i am doing everything right but isn’t working right.

ExpoTV at White Castle

Sometimes, you’re just in the mood for a couple (or ten) White Castle sliders. Kdemane from ExpoTV’s tech team recently visited and reviewed a Jersey City location. Click the image to watch his review of this popular restaurant chain. Unfortunately, there were no Harold & Kumar or Neil Patrick Harris sightings. Only seven sliders were consumed during this sitting.
