The Today Show featured the the upcoming 2010 Chevrolet Volt and 2010 Dodge EV Electric Cars. Both can go 40 miles on electricity alone. That evens out to about 2 cents per mile. These cars can travel at least 300 miles without a recharge. The Volt will plug into a regular home electrical socket, and has the capacity to be fully charged in between four and eight hours. Although, it will depend on how many miles between charges. The EV is a 268 horsepower sports car that can go 0-60 mph in under 6 seconds. It does have power, but without the rev of the engine. With the economy in the state that it is, maybe these cars can save the auto industry. They definitely have some cool designs. If they save money as well, I would definitely be interested.

Being a former VW Jetta owner, I fully appreciate the uniqueness that is Volkswagon and the design of their cars. They always push the envelope with interesting and creative features. I came across their newest concept car, the VW Golf GTI W12 650 concept
The car is just for show and probably just to build buzz at car shows for VW but it also definitely has the brains to back up its beauty with “a mammoth 650 horsepower and over 530 ft lbs of torque from the 6.0L biturbo W12 it’s got mounted behind the front seats. All that juice flows through a 6-speed automatic to the rear wheels, which are shod in some seriously meaty rubber.”

Buying a car might not be on the top of peoples to-do list with the state of the economy. Gas price is high, Ford stock is down at an all time low. So maybe consumers should think about buying a used car or even a 2008 model now that most dealerships are pushing ‘09 models.
Expo member jlan tells you why the 2008 Ford Edge might be a good buy turning a time when gas is expensive and cash is tight.
