Cheerios a drug?

According to the Wall Street Journal:
The Food and Drug Administration sent a warning letter to General Mills, saying its claim that Cheerios is “clinically proven to help lower cholesterol” makes the cereal a drug under federal law. A General Mills spokesman said the claim has been used for more than two years, but the company will work with the FDA to resolve the issue.

General Mills says that the FDA’s issue is with the way the claims appear on its box, not the science behind them.

Cheerios is a staple in many homes so it will be interesting how this issue is resolved.

Oprah’s KFC Coupon Controversy

Did you get to redeem your KFC coupon courtesy of Oprah today? KFC and Oprah teamed up for the Unthink KFC campaign to offer you a coupon for a free meal of 2 pieces of their new grilled chicken, 2 sides, and a biscuit. Which sounds like a nice deal.

But would you risk riots, a sit-in, or possible racial violence and/or political uprising?

Reports are coming in from across the country that stores are running out of free chicken or not serving it at all which isn’t sitting well with the owners of these coupons who want their free meals.

Free grilled chicken from KFC today!

KFC is introducing its long-awaited grilled chicken today, April 27 and will give away free tastes!

The fast-food chicken chain is offering a healthier poultry item as an alternative to their usual fried fare. The grilled chicken has between 70 to 180 calories and 4 to 9 grams of fat depending on the piece. That compares with skin-on fried chicken products, which have 110 to 490 calories and 7 to 31 grams of fat depending on the piece.
